To install the Teams mobile app on your iPhone or iPad: Open the Apple App Store on your iOS device. Tap the Search icon in the store and type Microsoft Teams. Make sure you choose the Microsoft app, as shown. Hey there I can login on the web/desktop normally, but I can't login to MS Teams on my mobile phone. The message I always receive is 'There was a problem with the network. However, I'm certain its not a network related issue. I assume it is because we completely changed our M365 ten.

All of the requirements in the following sections apply to both the Microsoft Teams desktop app and the Teams Web app.

If you can see it on your phone, you can share it in the meeting! Add a companion device to a meeting. Open Teams on your mobile phone when you're already in a meeting on another device. You'll see a message at the top of your mobile screen with an option to join the meeting. Tap Join to add your phone as a companion.

  • Background video effects require Windows 10 or a processor with AVX2 instruction set.

  • Joining a meeting using proximity detection in a Microsoft Teams Room requires Bluetooth LE, which requires Bluetooth to be enabled on the client device, and for Windows clients it also requires the 64-bit Teams client. This feature is not available on 32-bit Teams clients.

Hardware requirements for Teams on mobile devices

You can use Teams on these mobile platforms:

  • Android: Compatible with Android phones and tablets.

    Support is limited to the last four major versions of Android. For example, when a new, major version of Android is released, the Android requirement is the new version and the three most recent versions that precede it.

  • iOS: Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

    Support is limited to the two most recent major versions of iOS. For example, when a new, major version of iOS is released, the iOS requirement is the new version and the most recent versions that preceded it. The optional Blur my background video effect on iOS requires an operating system of iOS 12 or later, compatible with the following devices: iPhone 7 or later, iPad 2018 (6th generation) or later, and the iPod touch 2019 (7th generation).

This document contains detailed instructions for installing Microsoft Teams on a mobile device and configuring it for use at Texarkana College. The device shown is an iPhone, but installation on an Android device would be nearly the same. The primary difference between the two installations is whether you press the App Store icon (iPhone) or the Play Store icon (Android). The first 3 steps are downloading the app. What to do once you have the app, begins at step 4 and is the same for either iPhone or Android.

Microsoft Teams Mobile Screen Sharing

  1. Tap the App Store icon or the Google Play icon depending on the type of mobile device you have.
  2. On an iPhone, if the Search bar doesn’t appear, tap the Search icon at the bottom of the screen. On Android, use the Android’s method of locating an app in the Play Store.
  3. Search for “Microsoft Teams”. The icon for Teams should look like the one in the picture. Tap the Download icon. Steps on an Android will be similar.
  4. Once fully downloaded, an option to immediately Open the app appears on the iPhone. Both iPhone and Android will have a new Teams icon on the device. Tap Open or tap the Teams icon to start Teams for the first time.
  5. The first time you launch Teams, you will be asked to sign in. If the displayed login is not your @texarkanacollege.edu email address, choose “Sign in with another account”. Only tap the displayed address if it is your TC email address.
  6. Fill in the account name with your complete TC email address and tap the Sign In button. Whether accessing Teams from a mobile device or a Desktop ALWAYS use your full email address when signing in.
  7. Another sign-in screen will appear. This one will ask for your login AND your password. Enter your TC email address and your TC password. This is the same password that you log in to myTC with. Call the Help Desk at 903-823-3030 if you need password assistance.
  8. After signing in, you need to allow notifications and use of your microphone. Choose “Allow” when asked if you want Notifications and “Ok” to allow Teams to your microphone.
  9. Next, there are 2 or 3 “Welcome” screens. Once you swipe past the Welcome screens, you are in Teams!
